With up to five integrated
modules, Seneca offers auto-attendant capabilities,
voice-activated dialing, e-mail, voice mail and fax.
Seneca is available in different configurations to meet
your needs. Additionally, it can be integrated with your
existing PBX system and is scalable to grow along with
your business.
Receptionist Module
Seneca Receptionist Module includes an
auto-attendant that answers and manages all incoming
calls, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It activates key
features of your PBX, including transferring calls to
voice mail or initiating "Do Not Disturb." Incoming
callers simply tell Seneca the name of the person or
department they’re trying to reach, and the call is
delivered to the appropriate extension. No menus, no
keys to punch—it’s direct access, just by saying a name.
If the line goes unanswered, the caller can instruct
Seneca to try alternate numbers for the person or
department. Set on an individual basis, these alternate
“Locate” numbers instantly direct callers to your mobile
phone or home phone, meaning you never miss a call. The
caller may also elect to leave a message or direct the
call to another person or department.
Within the office, the Seneca
auto-attendant tells the call recipient the name of the
caller and asks how the call should be handled, with
options that include taking the call, placing it on hold
or sending it to voice mail. Priority can be given to
important incoming calls by instructing Seneca to accept
calls only from certain numbers while sending all other
incoming calls to voice mail.
Voice Mail Module
Seneca provides hands-free management of your
voice mail box, enabling you to review, copy and forward
messages via voice commands. For instance, if Seneca has
identified Caller ID information, or if the caller
leaves a phone number with a message, you can return the
call by telling Voice Control to “Call back.”
Dialing Module
Reach anyone within your company and up to
5000 contacts in your personal Seneca address book by
saying their name to the auto-attendant. The dialing
module eliminates the need for paper company directories
and helps you connect with other employees when you’re
out of the office and don’t have access to a list of
extensions.
E-mail Module
E-mail is just a phone call away with Seneca,
which enables you to access your inbox from anywhere,
without the need for a computer. Using simple voice
commands, you can have messages in your inbox read to
you via text-to-speech technology. And, you can reply to
a message, or record a new one and send it as a .wav
file e-mail attachment.
Fax Module
With Seneca, every employee is assigned a
personal fax number, eliminating your company’s need to
buy or rent expensive fax machines. Incoming faxes are
routed into the recipient’s message inbox and can be
printed, copied or forwarded on-demand, even from a
remote location. Employing text-to-speech technology,
users can also have important fax header information
read to them by the auto-attendant.

Seneca industry application briefs, product literature, and reference manuals are available on-line in the
TechLine Library.
